Loving Hugs
In Africa
If we are able to find ways to help people more directly and locally -through education and jobs, they can help to change the world around them in positive ways. If they become educated and realize its value, they are more likely to insure and prioritize an education for their children. We can help them by supporting these programs that will eventually lead them to being able to help themselves
and in turn, help each other.
By learning different skills, people become more self-confident. If we can help offer them ways to learn skills through supporting educational and vocational programs at these schools, or if we can offer help through Micro Credits when they graduate so that they
can start their own businesses, supporting themselves and their families, we can help these people to create a better future for themselves and their families; their world and ours.
School Programs

Les Ecoles du Coeur
Loving Hugs, Inc. is working with Les Ecoles du Coeur, a school in Kinshasa, Democratic Republic of Congo, Africa, to give 'loving hugs' (stuffed animals) to children in orphanages, hospitals, and prisons in their area, by having their sewing students make these lovable "anytime hugs" for those children.
Instead of paying a large
shipping company to send 'loving hugs'
(stuffed animals) to the children in Kinshasa, Loving Hugs, Inc.
is paying these women sewing students to make them through
their school's program for us to give to the children in need of
a comforting hug. Loving
Hugs,Inc. also includes the delivery of a large bag of rice,
loaves of bread, and sodas with every delivery of 'hugs' for
these children in need.
This is helping these women to
earn an income to help support their own children.
Groupe
Scolaire La Tendresse
Loving Hugs, Inc. is also working with Groupe Scolaire La Tendresse to help with funding of their educational and vocational programs for children in Kinshasa.
The school is already implementing a sewing program similar to Les Ecoles du
Coeur; the teachers from Groupe Scolaire will be attending training sessions at
Les Ecoles du Coeur.

Plans are underway for offering woodworking classes that will teach students how to make desks, tables, shelving, benches and chairs, and then supply other area schools with those needed items for a fee. Both
schools are also developing an expanded sewing program, which will more fully teach more of their students how to sew, and at the same time provide other area schools with school uniforms sewn by Groupe Scolaire La
Tendresse and Les Ecoles du Coeur students for a fee.

We are also starting a Food Growing Program through this school
where many acres of land will eventually be planted, the
harvest will feed students at both schools as well as children
from a local orphanage. The remaining harvest will be sold
locally to provide additional income to the school, to help make
this program self-sustaining.
Micro Credit Finance Programs
are being established for the graduated students and
staff of both schools to help them earn income to support themselves and their
families.
